A note to the reader:
It’s so easy to bash Donald J. Trump. He’s evil, racist, uncouth, and hates our guts. Now, he’s been kicked down the steps from the salon where the swells hang out, the generational rich, his betters. Everyone say Hallelujah! Oh now, don’t feel bad. He deserves our contempt. He hurt a lot of people. Feeling sorry for him is like shedding tears for Al Capone.
We, the media corp, were right to attack Trump for every stupid or mean thing he did as president. And good riddance, I say. Don’t you dare darken our door in 2024. We’re beyond your foolishness. We’re marching on to a bright, golden future.
And then there is Joe Biden. We’re taking a ride in Joe’s brand new electric car. We’re turning our backs on blowhards and grifters. It’s smooth sailing and nothing but blue skies from here on out.
But what if Joe lets us down? What is the media to do? Can self-respecting journalists, factory-trained at Harvard, Yale or Columbia, bear the burden, the indignity of taking Joe to task for another unnecessary war? Dare we criticize the Republicans in his cabinet? Will we unleash our fury when the Republican Senate turns down Joe’s nominees who were not deemed fit to be in the Trump regime?
Woe is me, dear reader. I’m losing sleep at night thinking of your agony when another stalwart media truth teller lets you down. Oh, the agony of being an informed citizen.Fear not when you tune in to The Left Coast. We will tell the truth. Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t matter. No one, but no one, has the right to tamper with the truth, and by so doing, lead the public astray.
You and I know that Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris, for that matter, are not equal to the urgent task of saving us from climate change. Nor are they capable of housing the homeless, ending the pandemic, ending racism and discrimination, getting the economy rolling, or even addressing all the myriad problems in our future.
Yet, I’m concerned about the hapless Democrat, or apolitical person, who stumbles on this news site. Many of these innocents are not ready for the naked truth. Therefore, come the beginning of the year, more of the articles will be harbored behind a tiny paywall of $5/mo, which I hope will shield the unwary, and spark a new feeling of belonging.
How Donald Trump can get his Mojo back, and not be a Total Shit in the History Books
Game over Donald Trump, unless you can deliver a devastating blow to the Democrats. What could that be? How about rubbing their noses in the little wars they love to have? How about foiling their attempts to stick it to the honest people they hate. You may hate them too, but that’s not the point. The Democratic leaders don’t know the meaning of compassion. Their hatred is more than you can imagine. So here we go. Pardon these people, and you will have achieved revenge on those uppity people who have been sticking it to you for the last four years:
Pardons: Julian Assange, Edward Snowdon, all other whistleblowers, all those in prison for drug crimes, and other non-violent crimes, including Mumia Abu-Jamal, Leonard Peltier, and victims of a racist criminal “justice” system. Presidents have been pardoning people for all the right reasons, and wrong reasons, since the country began. Now it’s your turn.
Stop these wars: You already said you wanted to end the war in Afghanistan, and pull the troops out of Syria. Ok, give your new Acting Secretary of Defense, Chris Miller, two weeks to have every solider, and every intelligence officer, pretending to be military, out of Afghanistan within two weeks, no extensions.
You ordered all troops out of Syria. Instead, the Neo-liberals in the military hid them in other parts of the country, or said they were protecting oil installations. Bullshit. Protecting from whom? The Syrians. Tell Miller, all troops are to be homeward bound within two weeks, no extensions.
And for good measure, remove all troops from Iraq within two weeks. The Iraqis have already asked our government to take them out. Don’t let anyone, I mean anyone, hold you back. Bring them home.
If you do these simple things, the Democrats will hate you and your people will love you. Guaranteed!
These Are Not The Leaders We Want, or Need
Trump/Pence, Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer, and their lackeys are the most important people in the Executive and Congressional branches of government. We have only gotten rid of Trump/Pence. The rest of this rogue’s gallery live on, with the addition of Biden/Harris, to do untold damage to our daily lives, and the lives of millions around the world. None of the above have our interests at heart.
All of these so-called leaders may be good family men and women, love their pets, and/or have a good sense of humor (more doubtful), but they do not occupy these important positions to help make our lives better. They are full-time creatures of Wall Street, the Intelligence “community,” the Military-Industrial Complex, and other entities that we would be much better off if they did not exist.
They also have a huge public relations establishment with the sole goal of deluding all of us into thinking they are working night and day on our behalf. Don’t believe it.
Don’t hate government. Just hate this kind of phony government. We desperately need a government that will use its power and wealth to save us from climate catastrophe, and the other major crises that we confront.
COVID: The Final Battle?
The COVID-19 virus forces have been gathering their strength for an all-out Second Wave. The results do not look good. Many more people will die. Many more people will have chronic illnesses inflicted by the virus. And, everyone’s lives will be disrupted.
Since this news site began, we have been among the only ones to inform you of the R scores, also called Rt. They give a state-by-state picture of the spread of the virus. Until recently, many states were reducing the numbers of viruses. As on Nov. 19, only one state, Mississippi, was reducing the number of viruses. Check out the growth of the virus in your state, at Rt.live, a website founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger who were the co-founders of Instagram. Their site also contains understandable graphs for each state which are adjustable to show day-to-day infection rates.
Knowledge is good, but it all comes down to each individual caring about total strangers enough to wear a mask, keep social distancing, avoid crowds and keep washing your body parts.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving! But don’t forget that turkeys are a living representative of dinosaurs and should be protected. The holiday, itself, is a celebration of the taking of the land from the indigenous peoples, who lived and protected the land for thousands of years. We need to come up with some new holidays that celebrate the people, the plants and animals, and Gaia, this beautiful planet.
