After Trump, What is the Democrats Game Plan?
Now that Trump no longer holds the reins of power (or the nuclear football), how will the Democrats define themselves? For the past four years, when asked about Medicare-for-All, Free Tuition, Debt relief, and other social programs, they would respond with a sudden, “Look over there!” and point at the Trump White House.
Now they have to do something for the people, or we’ll be experiencing the return of Trump in four years. It is a real problem for the DP leaders. They have to satisfy their billionaire donors, while avoiding a real uprising among the populace.

Of course, Trump is still with us in myriad ways. Joe Biden has reversed many of Trump’s Executive Orders, but not all of them. For instance, the Biden regime is set to endorse Trump’s golem, Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez, who has no official standing in Venezuela, but what the hell.

Meddling in the affairs of other countries comes easy for the Washington elite. What good is an Empire if you can’t order people around? Antony John Blinken, Biden’s nominee for Secretary of State recently gushed about his agreement with the loathsome Mike Pompeo, who said China was practicing genocide against the Uyghur Muslim people of China’s Xinjiang province. While China’s response to terrorism in the province has been harsh, it’s hard to believe it rises to the level of genocide, unless you’re reading from the CIA talking points.

Back to the topic. Who will Biden-Harris bash, if not Trump. The old favorite, of course, is Russia. Can it hold its crown as Public Enemy #1, or will it be unseated by one of the other candidates; China, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Venezuela, or perhaps by a non-state, such as Domestic Terrorism. The latter rose to prominence with the “invasion” of the Capitol. This rag-tag group of pro-Trumpers would have trouble overthrowing Andorra, let alone the mightiest country in the world. Yet, the PR mills have to work with what they get. Domestic Terrorism, indeed.

Russia will probably retain its standing as ogre-in-chief, not because it is an existential threat to our country. It’s not. But it occupies an important geo-political position in the world. As Zbigniew Brzezinski, Carter’s National Security Advisor and architect of the Trilateral Commission, theorized, the war for world supremacy would be won in Asia. This is why China’s Belt and Road trade initiative must be stopped. That means controling Afghanistan, Russia and Turkey.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 continues to rampage through the world. Trump can’t be blamed much longer for the complete SNAFU in getting vaccines out to hundreds of millions of people in the United States. Big Pharma has a monopoly here with Pfizer and Moderna, but can’t even capitalize on it.
There is good news in California, which now has one the lowest infection rates in the country, .87 Rt score, which means the virus is declining in the number of infections. This is probably not due to anything the government did, but is the result of more people becoming scared, very scared, they will get it.

Why did the year 2020 deal a death blow to capitalism? Because it showed to all concerned that capitalism could not solve the problems of the day. Adequate supplies for essential health care workers could not be found, Corporations vied with each other to produce the first vaccine, instead of working together, and now the capitalist system can’t get it out to a public that’s waiting for a shot before they die.
A one-word description of capitalism would be: competition. A one-word description of socialism would be: cooperation. Our greatest threat, the climate crisis, demands cooperation between all the countries of the world. Capitalism will only retard our efforts to keep this beautiful planet liveable. Only the foolish and the greedy can support capitalism under these circumstances.
