The World Winds of Social Change
The whirlwinds of global climate change, and the World-winds of rapid social change seem to be trying to outdo each other.
Donald Trump, the odds-on favorite to be the next leader of the "free world" almost took a bullet at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, on July 13.
One or more bystanders were not so lucky. A former firefighter, Corey Comperatore, died from a bullet wound, and two others, who were in the crowd, are in critical condition. However, the Secret Service says a shooter fired his rifle from a rooftop three times. If so, how did he hit Trump’s ear, kill a bystander and critically wound two more?
Had Trump not turned his head at the last minute, the Republican Convention, starting July 15, would have been thrown into chaos. Did powerful people want this to happen, or was the shooter only a lone gunman?
An identified lone gunman, Thomas Crooks, was killed by secret police on the scene. Authorities seem satisfied that he was the only shooter. He was (the Secret Service killed him) a 20-year-old, named Thomas Crooks. Who was he really? They say he was a registered Republican, who was too young to have ever voted for President before. Some say he was an antifa (anti-fascist) supporter. A BlackRock promotional video, filmed several years ago, includes him as an extra. BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager, with $10 trillion in assets under management.
Crooks is beginning to resemble Lee Oswald, who allegedly killed President Kennedy, and Sirhan Sirhan, who allegedly killed his brother, Robert F. Kennedy when RFK was campaigning for President.
• The Secret Service was inept in both the JFK assassination and the Trump attempted assassination 61 years later. More evidence of the existence of the Deep State, which is still withholding documents on the JFK assassination that Congress ordered released. The institution of a state-run protective service goes back to the Roman Empire’s Praetorian Guard, which sometimes assassinated the Emperor they were ordered to protect. After Biden refused to assign a Secret Service detail to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., he arranged for his own protective service and is still alive.
• Crooks was a kitchen worker. Sirhan was a kitchen worker.
• There were claims that Oswald was a Communist (he was not), that Sirhan hated RFK (he did not), and that Crooks was a Republican. That could also be untrue.
• Oswald supposedly shot JFK from the sixth floor of a building. Crooks was on the roof behind Trump. Oswald said he was a patsy. Crooks was permanently silenced before he could say anything. What would he have said?
Cui bono? (Who Benefits?)
Let’s assume for a moment that Crooks was either one of several shooters, or like Sirhan, was a brainwashed dupe. Who would have benefitted from Trump’s assassination? The top leadership of the Democratic Party would have felt like Christmas came early this year.
As it turned out, a near miss benefitted Trump. After going down behind the podium upon realizing he was the target, Trump rose, as if from the dead. He stuck his fist in the air, imitating leftists whom he hates, and yelled “fight, fight.” A few feet away from the scene of the crime, he was surrounded by aides. That’s where he again raised his fist, and either on purpose or inadvertently, made a good imitation of the Iwo Jima photo that symbolized victory. Score another triumph for Donald Trump.
Creating an Atmosphere of Hate
The Democratic Party leaders have been able to stir their followers to a fever pitch against Trump. Five days earlier, President Biden told Democratic supporters, that they should “put Trump in a bullseye.” Most people don’t believe Biden meant it literally, but it has been pointed to as the kind of rhetoric Democrats are using to inflame hatred of Trump.
The Democratic Party of 2024 is not the same entity as in Roosevelt’s day or Kennedy’s. It has morphed into the driving force of U.S. Imperialism, and should be called the “Imperial Democratic Party.” It seems to be guided by a credo of protecting the Empire, and the people be damned. Much of the anti-Trump rhetoric comes down to a belief that Trump is not capable of saving the Empire, no matter the cost. Trump, the DP believes, is an unreliable partner, therefore, he’s an enemy.
Like most Republicans, Trump places his individual ego and profits as his top priority. This outlook will likely conflict with the “higher goals,” of running an Empire. Therefore, all tactics including impeachment, indictments, and public disparagement must be used against him, as if he were a foreign national. Does this include violence? We know that U.S. leaders are not adverse to using violence against other foreign nationals. Is that what happened on June 13th in Butler, Pennsylvania? Time will tell.
Instead of fanning the fires, everyone should just calm down. Neither Biden (or a replacement), nor Trump is going to change the political situation in which the U.S. finds itself. Both of them are confirmed capitalists who want to pile on more capitalism at a time when capitalism is synonymous with corruption. Both are warmongers who love to lob missiles into various countries.
The country has survived several Presidents who were called Hitler-like when they were running for office. They included Ronald Reagan, the two Bushes, and Trump’s first term. We’re still here, and still fighting for a better world.
Do You Really Want Trump or Biden to be Your President?
In the time when Joe Biden was Vice President to Barack Obama, he went along with every violent act by Obama. These included fighting in Afghanistan, occupying Iraq and numerous drone attacks, which included attacks on Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia. One of the Yemen drone attacks was targeted on an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, who was a writer and professor. This attack was swiftly followed by a drone attack murdering al-Awlaki’s 16-year-old son, Abdulrahman. There were no known complaints from VP Joe.
After Trump was elected in 2016, he continued the wars that were raging when he took office. He also bombed Syria. For people in the Middle East, Trump’s most heinous crime was the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was widely known as a peacemaker, and had been winding up a peace-keeping mission. Trump bragged about the assassination but many countries condemned the U.S. When campaigning, Trump promised to “drain the swamp” (the Washington bureaucracy) but he made no substantial changes.
When Biden assumed the Presidency after the 2020 election, he continued his aggressive propaganda against Russia and China. When the Ukraine war broke out, the U.S. backed the Zelensky regime. With Biden’s support, Congress has given $175 billion in aid and weapons to Ukraine. In spite of urging an end to the killing of civilians in Gaza, Biden has continued to support Netanyahu’s war on the general population. Biden has earmarked at least $26 billion for Israel this year. Since the founding of Israel, the U.S. has provided $310 billion, enabling Israelis to enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world.
Neither of these candidates for President seem to be the least bit capable of making peace or practicing diplomacy. Biden has raised the ante by calling the Chinese and Russian leaders, “dictators,” and making other disparaging remarks about them.
It now appears that Biden is not making day-to-day decisions on national affairs. However, the two most likely stand-ins, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken are making decisions that are still the responsibility of Joe Biden. Other Cabinet heads are probably “winging it.”
Would Trump be any better? For whom? Both these candidates cater to the extremely wealthy, who they need to fund their election campaigns. Neither would be better for the average working stiff.
What to do when we vote? Voting for either of these characters would be a wasted vote. If millions vote for third-party candidates, even if they don’t win, it would rock the Deep State and the oligarchs. It would also lay the basis for a winning campaign by a President and Congress who can help bring about a world of peace and abundance.
