A large part of the American population are depressed by Donald Trump's comeback after his 2020 defeat. A great many other people are, right now, the happiest they've been in years.
I hear you on all points. I would like to communicate with you as I was a Venice activist in 1960s. Dub Bois Club, John and Anna's coffee house, anti-war, beatniks.
Here is an interview with me about the Trump-Greenland-Denmark topic.
Good to hear from you. We communicated a few years ago when I was working on the Free Venice Beachhead and we printed some of your material at that time.
Seems like the more we struggle the more we have to struggle. Anyway I’d love to get some of your thinking on this and run it on the Left Coast, which is becoming more and more popular as time goes by.
Hope you’re doing really well. Good to hear you’re keeping the faith.
Yes, I remember. I have written a lot about Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Europe...
I think that the Trump open capitalism mission with billionaries while thumping against the Deep State, which is fully behind the Democratic party, could be positive for the working class, and for anti-war activism, if not now but in the near future.
Mr. Mussolini 2nd will not be able to fulfill his capitalist exhalation dreams without disimishing important needs for the people.
His program, if followed through with, will backfire on the working class. And they might just rise up once they realize that capitalism in any shape or form does not meet their needs.
As far as immigration goes, most of the people fleeing their countries do so because US imperialism demands that their governments bow down to US capitalist-imperial interests. When possible, I think most of these people should remain in their countries and fight for justice, fight for socialism as many Latin Americans do, and many have won better governments.
I also think that no one who believes that capitalism is not the answer should ever vote for either of its parties. There are far too many "progressives" who should know better, and I count my friend Noam Chomsky among those.
Great article, Jim. Lucid! Hope all is well with you. Kudos from Laura Shepard Townsend.
Hey Laura,
Where are you hanging out these days? Any books in the offing?
Jim
