During the runoff election for Georgia’s two Senate seats, President-elect Joseph Biden went on television to tell voters that if they elected the two Democrats, they, and everyone else, would receive an immediate $2,000 stimulus check. More evidence of Biden’s $2,000 proposal can be found on Jimmy Dore and Krystal Ball on The Hill - Rising.
Just what does “immediate” mean? The election was held on January 5. It is now February. Even though there are now 51 Democratic votes in the Senate, a Democratic House, and a Democratic President in the White House, no stimulus bill has been prepared. Talks with Republicans are leading nowhere. The two-grand bill has magically turned into a measly $1400, and may go lower.
There are many ways to manipulate an election, including lying to the voters on a very important issue, like being able to put food on the table. It looks as if the voters in Georgia have been had. They fell for it, probably because they expected better from the new President. They thought he had respect for them, but they were just dupes.
Walking Backward into 2020
The time-traveling Democrats now want to return to the days of Trump before Jan. 20, 2021 to impeach him (impeach: to accuse (a public official) before an appropriate tribunal of misconduct in office. -dictionary.com). Even though the practice for the past 230 years has been to impeach a President while he is President, this time it will be different. Where is the outrage against the Dems for playing revenge games while the promised $2,000 stimulus seemingly has been abandoned?
If the Democrats succeed in creating a new (law?), that allows impeachment sans offfice, then let’s not stop with Trump. Let’s impeach Andrew Jackson for genocide of the Native American peoples. Let’s impeach William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt for turning this country into an empire while killing thousands of Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Filipinos, and starting a 120-year reign of terror throughout the world.
Many more Presidents, such as Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, H.W. Bush & Son, Bill Clinton and many others ought to be impeached, and perhaps we’ll have our chance. But let’s not forget the most dastardly villain who ever sat in the White House, Harry S Truman. His crime is unique among all the homo sapiens who ever lived. No other human has ever used a nuclear weapon against his fellow sentients, no matter what the provocation.
Maybe these Democrats are on to something with impeachment ex post facto. And why stop with Presidents? Let’s impeach Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, and what about those uppity Reddit’s WallStreetBets gang. They should be impeached, immediately. Send your nominees for impeachment to the Senate Democratic Committee for Divine Retribution. Hurry, the list is filling up fast.
One might think that a dying empire can be loads of fun, and indeed, it can. We still have a lot to learn about the impeachment process. We haven’t even scratched the surface when it comes to impeaching the dead.
Oh yes, let’s go way back to 897 CE when they really knew how to conduct an impeachment. In that year, Pope Formosus, the Roman Pontiff, had been dead for seven months. Another Pope had come and gone. Then Pope Stephen VI was granted the throne of St. Peter. He demanded an impeachment trial of Pope Formosus, who was promptly dug up, dressed in his best papal clothes and brought to the courtroom.
Pope Stephen VI screamed accusations and insults at the corpse, who to his credit said nothing. The defendant’s defense was judged to be weak and he was convicted of not being worthy to be pope and all his acts were annulled. Apparently one of these acts was ordaining the young Pope Stephen. By abolishing his ordainment, Stephen became ineligible to serve as Pope. It seems that no one happened to point this out to Stephen.
After the trial, Formosus’ body was thrown in the Tiber. The body was found downstream by peasants who swore that he got up and started working miracles. This story was perhaps an indication of Stephen’s waning popularity. Never fear, “justice” was done. Stephen was imprisoned a short time later and was strangled in jail.

More on its way. Don’t miss a second of our crazy times, as seen from the Left Coast. Slip us a fin ($5) when no one is looking!
I never heard Biden, or anyone else for that matter, promise a $2600 relief payment. What I heard was a total of $2000, meaning another $1400 on top of Trump's $600, and that is what Biden is still promising to deliver. Also, what is the definition of "immediate"? You seem to fault Biden for not delivering $2000 checks, on top of the $600, on Jan. 6, 2 weeks before he became president. Anyone who understands how Congress works knows that bill take time to pass, checks take time to print & mail, even direct deposits take time, and a bill passed with only 51 votes is a longer process. "Immediately" must always be consider in context. If a friend in NYC says they are coming to LA immediately, I don't expect to hang up, open my door and find her standing there.
Also your use of a dictionary instead of the constitution to define impeachment is unfortunate and opportunist. Clearly, you oppose the trial of Trump for attempting to void the election, but Trump was impeached while in office, so all your ridiculous parallels re: Andrew Jackson and all, remain misleading and ridiculous. The question is, can he be allowed to avoid trial thanks to Moscow Mitch's delays. Please address that question, and not your fabrication.
